Alyson Weiss focuses on commercial and securities litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country. Her representative clients include Fortune 500 companies, top accounting and brokerage firms, corporate officers and directors, major movie studios, filmmakers and actors, well-known publishing companies and publicly-traded media companies.
Her practice also includes arbitration proceedings before the National Association of Securities Dealers, the New York Stock Exchange and the American Arbitration Association, as well as regulatory proceedings before state and federal agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ms. Weiss handles a broad array of issues ranging from compliance with the federal securities laws and fiduciary obligations to contracts, business torts, indemnification of officers and directors, employment, intellectual property and entertainment matters. Her practice covers all phases of complex litigation (including individual, class and derivative actions), from pleadings through trials and appeals.
In 2000, Ms. Weiss assisted the Special Master appointed in In re Holocaust Victims’ Asset Litigation to develop and draft a plan of allocation and distribution for a $1.25-billion settlement funded by various Swiss banks. The plan was approved by Chief Judge Edward R. Korman of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
