Laura Wytsma’s practice focuses on intellectual property proceedings in federal court, with an emphasis on patent litigation. In addition to intellectual property matters, Ms. Wytsma’s broad litigation experience includes representations involving claims for antitrust violations and unfair competition; false advertising and Lanham Act violations; defamation and violation of privacy and publicity rights; breach of contract; and other complex commercial disputes. She has significant trial and appellate experience in federal proceedings. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Wytsma provides clients with pre-litigation counseling on intellectual property issues.

Ms. Wytsma is actively involved in pro bono litigation and has represented refugees seeking asylum from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Iran, Russia, China and Syria, as well as victims of domestic violence, in Immigration Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Prior Work Experience

Prior to joining Loeb, Ms. Wytsma was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP. She began her legal career in the Attorney General’s Honors Program at the United States Department of Justice.
